Saturday night with the McKee's
Saturday night we went to Charlotte to meet up with Adam, Andrea, and Maggie (soon to be here). It has been a while since we've seen the McKees and wanted to do something for them before Maggie's arrival. We can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks to meet her!
When leaving church on Sunday Jake sat in the baby carrier for a fun ride to the car. This didn't stop just in the church parking lot though. He even left like this from eating lunch. One man made a comment about the 'baby' and Jamie had to show him that it was Jake. I know that man thought we were all crazy.

Jake and Prayer
Yesterday while we were out Jake picked out a stuffed Minney Mouse (you can bend her arms and legs) to give to Emily. He carried it to the counter, kept pushing it at the lady until she rang it up and then even carried it out of the store in it's own bag all by himself.
Later that night he had gotten ready to go to bed and on the way to his room I went to my room to do something. While I was in there he noticed Minnie Mouse on the bed. We played with her for a while and then I told him "Let's go night-night." Every night before I put him down we say our prayers. When he heard night-night I guess he knew it was coming up next. He starts saying "prayers, prayers", grabbed his stool out of my bathroom, brought it to the side of the bed, stood on it and folded his hands like when we say our prayers or the blessing. I looked and noticed that Minnie had her hands together as well and Jake, Minnie and I said our good night prayer...not only once but multiple times. Jamie was lucky enough to come upstairs and get in on it too. SO CUTE!!
We said good night to daddy again and on our way to Jake's room he kept pointing back at my room saying "prayer, prayer, prayer". I then realized he was talking about Minnie. Before it was all over this is what Jake ended up taking to bed with him last night.
Clemson played basketball last night so Jake was carrying around his Clemson helmet. Nothing was better then saying his prayers with Minnie and then making her wear the Clemson helmet to bed! GO MINNIE MOUSE!

Happy New Year!
Every year we go to Grandmama and Papa's on New Years Day to watch football and nap. This year Jeff, Kristine, Savannah, and Drew joined us along with Aunt Kitty and Helen. It was a full house and everybody had a great time.
Jake found Pop's rocking chair when he was little and had to take it home with him.
The kitchen was as far as we got the rocking chair while trying to finish cleaning out the car and Jake was already in it when we got back inside. THANKS POP!!

Chick-fil-a Bowl: Clemson vs. Auburn
New Years Eve was a big night at our house. Clemson was playing football!! Jake had to wear his jersey to match Daddy's clemson attire. We went to Pat's house to watch the 1st half and shoot 'fire'...can't get him to say fireworks. Jake's not fond of hearing the fireworks at all but watching them from inside was quit exciting.
Pointing to his treat for using the potty (...also the reason for not having on any pants).
Jake has always been nice enough to share his potty treats with Bailey.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning
Since we did Christmas the week before in McCormick, we were very excited to be able to have Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house. It was great not having to travel with all of those gifts.
On Christmas Eve we went to church, Gary and Michelle joined us for dinner and then it was time to open up more gifts! I heard that Jake had already seen his gift from Gary and Michelle a couple weeks before (due to not sending any toys to their house when Jake stayed with them) but he was just as excited the 2nd time around.
I'm sure you can imagine that he did that over and over and over...

Matheny Christmas 2007
Tonya, John and Emily spent the week of Christmas in Kansas City so we did Christmas with the Mathenys the weekend before. Jake's favorite gifts were his clothes. He would scream and hold them up for everybody to see. Who would have guessed that?!?
Aunt Suzanne gave him a doctor kit just like hers...well almost...and he loved it. Teaching him that not everybody has to lift up his/her shirt when he listens to your heart was hard at first but he caught on soon enough.

Twas the Night Before Christmas...
Jake is really getting into everything Christmas. The bedtime book is now Twas the Night Before Christmas. Here are a few pictures of Jake and Daddy reading...
