Happy Halloween!

Trick-or-Treat at Lexicode.
Sam and Peni came into town just in time to get ready to trick-or-treat. Jake didn't like all of the scary people walking around so he stayed with Nana and Pop to hand out candy while we all walked around with Emily and to see all of the neighbors. When we got back we got to see Jake as a pro telling everybody that walked up, "say trick-or-treat". He didn't wait on them to get to the door before saying it. He just started saying it when he saw people. We have an awesome neighborhood filled with kids and adults having as much fun as the kids. I hope we have many more years like this.

Playing football with Bama.Dressing up his football costume. This was the closest he got to wearing the shoulder pads. He kept saying he didn't want to wear 'boobies'!?!?

Painting Pumpkins

This year we decided not to carve a pumpkin but to PAINT the pumpkin. This way was not as messy...but I should really stress AS.
Jake had a great time and did it all by himself. Some kids riding in the street stopped and told him what a great job he was doing. He was very proud of himself after that.

Saying all of the colors before he starts.Ready-to-Paint!
He painted one small pumpkin for Gary/Michelle...and one for Rick. (The side that is toward him is full of paint).

MICKEY MOUSE HOUSE!!

I'm finally getting around to posting about going to Disney World. It was absolutely AWESOME. There were tons of people there but not enough to make long lines (if any line at all) or even seem crowded.
Our first stop of the week was to stay with the Grabows in Gainsville.
Ella showing off her ears.Jake was such a big help packing up the car each time!
In our house Gainsville equals only 1 thing...THE SWAMP! Jamie nor I have been to a game there so a trip to the stadium was a must. It is in the center of campus and school was in. I had to admit that I finally felt old. I know there are older students but they weren't walking around with a 2 year old, a camera, and a 33 year old. We still had a great time.Jake scored a TOUCHDOWN in the Swamp.Running around on the field.
After checking in and getting settled we headed over to Downtown Disney. There were rides, things to see, food, and lots of shopping.New Mickey ears.Jake and Daddy in front of the LEGO dragon.Pictures from Downtown Disney:

The next day we went to Magic Kingdom. This is such an awesome place for younger kids. We did EVERYTHING that the park had to offer except for a few rides that Jake was not tall enough for. This is also the place that Jake rode his first roller coaster. I can not wait until he is tall enough to ride even more rides. There were so many characters to meet and things to see.

The next morning we went back to DownTown Disney to have lunch at The House of Blues. This is where Rick worked many nights and into the morning. He has lots of great stories and lots of crazy ones as well. This one is for you Rick!

That night we headed back to Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Jake had been looking forward to this party for a long time.

The next day we went to Animal Kingdom. It was so awesome getting to see all of the animals and in such a cool way. The safari ride was the best. At the end of the day we still had a few more minutes to spare so we got to ride it again. They say every trip is different and that was definitely the truth. Animals were so close to us that I kept my hands near Jake just he case he decided to reach out and touch one.
The other highlight of the day/week was getting to eat breakfast with MICKEY MOUSE!! We dined with the characters, which included Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisey Duck. Definitely a must do for any family!!
We saw 2 different 3D shows at Disney. This particular one was a Bug's Life. It was the funniest thing watching Jake scream and duck and swat away things not knowing what was going on. At some parts he would say that he was scared but not one time did he take off his glasses. Those shows were definitely priceless for Jamie and I!!

We went strong the whole week and only rested when we needed to. We were there to open both parks and close them each night. Luckily Animal Kingdom closed at 7pm. Jake fell asleep in the stroller at 6:15pm and did not wake up until 9am!!! He definitely looks well rested!

DISNEY WORLD was so awesome. I can't wait to be able to take more family vacations just like this one! I love you Jamie and Jake!!!

Jake and Mickey Mouse

We had such a blast at Disney World. The weather was great and there weren't hardly any lines so we were able to do and ride everything! We have tons and tons of pictures and stories to tell. I will have to do another post later about the whole trip but until then I wanted to post the most important picture of all...Jake and Mickey Mouse. Eating breakfast with Mickey Mouse definitely made the trip complete.

On our way to Disney World...

We are heading to Disney World today!! Jake is so excited and it's hard to believe he probably will never really remember it. We will definitely remember his love for Mickey Mouse forever!!

Please keep us in your prayers as we drive to and from Orlando as well as everyones safety while having a great time in whatever we are doing. There are so many horror stories of kids getting lost or nabbed in large crowds like that. Definitely not anything fun to think about but definitely something that has been on my prayer list.

Hope you all have a great week and we will see you when we get back!!

State Fair 2008

Yesterday we went to the State Fair. Of course Tara was there..no different then any other year..Micheal, Joee, and Laney went with us too. We had a great time. Poor Jake wanted to ride everything that was made for kids. I felt SO bad because we didn't let him ride a thing! Some of you reading this may not know we are leaving for Disney World today so don't feel too sorry for him :)

He did however get to play 1 game. The 2nd part of the video shows him telling the camera what the snake says but I'm not sure if that's really clear. It's just the way the video loaded.

Weekend in Charlotte

Last weekend we headed to Charlotte to spend time with Aunt Suzanne and the Colville's.

Saturday we BOUGHT OUR DISNEY TICKETS..woohoo...met Adam, Andrea, and Maggie for lunch at Chick-fil-a, and then went to Monkey Joes. Just last week I got an email from a friend with a picture of her little girl with a broken arm and a warning about playing in Bouncy Houses. I said we would steer clear of those but that only lasted until we found Monkey Joes! Luckily we all made it out unharmed.
Jake and Emily brushing their teeth getting ready for the day.
While everybody was getting ready, Jake played the drums. We couldn't hear him play because he had on the earphones but after a little bit we heard him singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star....so cute!
